Neurotoxin Training: Part 1

**There are no additional fees for the hands on portion of the course. This course is a flat rate of $2,250.00 or 3 payments of $750.00**

Learning Objectives:

After completing the online and hands on portion of the course, the participant should be able to:

• Identify FDA approved neurotoxin products, explain mechanism of action, metabolization of product and duration of action
• Identify on-label and off label uses for each FDA approved neurotoxin
• Discuss storage, reconstitution, devices for injection and common uses of each neurotoxin product
• Identify facial muscles and differentiate between elevator, depressor or sphincter muscles
• Identify insertion and origin points of facial muscles and how this relates to injection of neuromotoxin
• Identify different muscle movement patterns and describe proper neurotoxin treatment
• Identify regions that should not be injected and how to take necessary precautions for optimal neurotoxin outcomes
• Explain how to treat 9 different areas with neurotoxin – this includes gummy smile, lip flip and masseter muscle injections in addition to the top 3 regions: Frontalis, Glabellar complex aka “11 lines” and orbicularis oculi aka “crows feet”
• Demonstrate proper needle placement and depth of needle during neurotoxin injections
• Explain difference between an intradermal injection, subcutaneous injection and intramuscular injection and which facial muscles require which depth of injection
• Discuss supplies used to prep and treat with neurotoxin product
• Conduct full consultation and assessment of facial muscles
• Explain the contraindications, precautions, pre and post care instructions associated with a neurotoxin treatment
• Explain proper management of complications associated with use of a neurotoxins
• Demonstrate reconstitution and how to draw up neurotoxin (each student gets their own vial to reconstitute and inject into their models)
• Describe, discuss and demonstrate novice injection techniques of neurotoxin products.

Accreditation

Upon successful completion of the online and hands on portion of the course you will receive:

• This nursing professional development activity was approved by the Ohio Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC)
• 10.0 CE hours which includes 1.5 CE Pharm hours and certificate of completion at the end of this course
